South Florida in, Miami out

Today's bracket reflects a switch in the Southern Florida representation in the field.  South Florida is in after beating Louisville, while Miami falls out after losing for the second time this season to NC State.

Northwestern almost got the big win tonight, but its comeback effort against Ohio State fell just short.  As a result, the Cats find themselves in the First Four in the current projection.

Colorado State and Cincinnati crept up a little after big wins.  The Rams knocked off UNLV at home.  The Rams always win at home.  It's away from home that they have problems.

The Bearcats steamrolled Marquette for its sixth top 50 RPI win and seventh against the top 100.  All those wins have come in conference play, where they are 11-6.

Dayton may have put the final nail in its coffin with a loss at Richmond.  Conference mate St. Joe's also hurt themselves with an overtime loss at St. Bonaventure.

Amen brother! No doubt this is a much better team than it was 2 1/2 months ago. They should be rewarded for improving over the course of the season.

"(USF is) now 19-11 overall, 12-5 in the Big East. Their RPI is in the Top 30. They're 3-2 against the Top 50 and 7-3 against the Top 100, and they haven't lost to a currently unranked opponent since Dec. 28."

Just sayin'.

Hey Mac Bridger... remember this? ...

"mq22, yes, you do get penalized because typically good teams suck. Past performance doesn't matter. The fact is that Pitt will be lucky to finish .500 this year. USF is 1-7 vs top 50. Your record is identical to WVU's and your SOS 20 points lower. WVU is 4-8 vs top 50. And I don't think WVU should be in!!"

YO MAC BRIDGER, you are WRONG!  No, you should NOT get penalized, and USF is proving it!  Do you STILL doubt USF's right to be in the tourney?

Funny how Palm suddenly is giving "some" consideration to USF, when just a few days ago he had put them in the "Needs More Work" category... why??? ONLY because "so many people were asking about USF".

I really have to question this guy's cred.

Undecided

You better start buying Cincinnati this team may go to final four,  they have beaten more ranked teams then anyone in the country minus a couple top teams.  6 wins over top 50 and they are ALL  legit wins.  People tried to down play not having Parker for the Presyberttian and Marshal games, but after his 28 last night ...maybe peoplke will finally realize not having him for 6 games hurt UC.....bad.......

So. Florida has a freshman point guard who improved steadily during the season; he is the key to their recent success.
They are a top 40 team right now and deserve a bid.
Miami will also get a bid if they beat the #3 seed in the ACC tournament. Too soon to count out a Jim Larranaga-coached team.

Name the second best win on USF's resume? I'm not buying Cincinatti.  USF has beat exactly three teams that may make the tourney.

You are crazy if you think USF is 'only' a first in team.  They should now effectively take the place Seton Hall on your bracket.  Hall should be still in, but USF beat them and Cincy head to head.  Also, USF's RPI and SOS should now be valid, as their only knock was a signature win.  Well, they got one in a very tough place to play.  Also, ask Cuse how good this team is.  They also almost lost last week at home to them.  USF should be now worse than an 7 seed if they get the double bye and finish 4th in the Beast.
